-
- What I mean is that nine months before PowerMacs were available to the
- public, Apple had alpha versions of the OS up and running that the press
- and developers could see. By November, Apple had given key developers
- computers and developers tools to convert their products to native code.

- For instance, before Photoshop was completed ported to PPC native code,
- Adobe released native filters, etc.

-
- Why is that so hard to believe? Insignia's SoftWindows and a few
- graphics apps were available at launch time.

-
- Why is it so silly? The Netscape plug-in architecture is a public spec that
- any developer can incorporate into their own browser. In fact, MS-Explorer
- already has. There are hundreds of sites that are using plug-ins like
- RealAudio and ShockWave.

-
- Are you denying that games capable of 16-bit stereo sound and graphics at
- 640x480 exist for Macs and PC's? Have you heard of Marathon for the Mac?

- What Amiga word processor integrates graphics, frames, and a spreadsheet
- as seamlessly as ClarisWorks? What features does the wp you are
- referring to have that aren't present in ClarisWorks?

- But the custom chips are slow compared to the graphics hardware on PC's
- and Macs. Games can also use specialized 3d hardware on the Mac. There
- are a few games out that use QuickDraw 3d hardware to speed up gameplay
- like Havoc and Descent.

-
- What is the "TRUE Multimedia software" that the PC or Mac lacks.
